Children's Ministry

Our Mission

To partner with families to teach and live out God's truth and love, so that, in God's timing, every child will have a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and both the passion and skills to make an impact on their world for Him.

In pursuit of our mission, we want everything we do to be:

Biblically Solid. We are committed to teaching the life-changing Word of God, and nothing should detract from the clear teaching of His truth. (2 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 40:8; Psalm 119:89-96, 105)

Creative & Fun. Our God is not boring and neither is His house! We believe everybody learns better when they are having fun, and our teaching strives to captivate our children's hearts, minds, imaginations, and souls, accommodating different learning styles and levels. (Psalm 34:8; Psalm 8)

Child Affirming. This is a place where children are treasured and will feel loved, accepted, and valued. We believe that the Lord can use children to make a difference, and encourage them to discover and develop their gifts to minister to others. (Matthew 19:13-15; 1 Timothy 4:12)

Application Oriented. We are teaching not merely to inform, but to transform hearts and lives. We want every child to understand how God's truth makes a difference in their daily life. (James 1:22, 25; 1 Timothy 4:12)

Relationship Building. The most powerful lesson we can teach is through our own example. Our teachers try to make each child feel appreciated and loved, and we encourage friendships among the families in our classrooms. (John 13:34; Deuteronomy 6:1-9)

Other Events and Programs

Children's Ministry

Vacation Bible School. (3 years to 5th Grade). Every year in late summer, a themed week-long program takes over our campus. Great Bible teaching, as well as fun crafts, singing, and arts and crafts for parents are among some of the things included.

Children's Musical Theatre. (Grades 2-5). Musicals encourage our children to discover and develop their gifts, and provide a valuable opportunity for them to minister to others. We stage musical productions once or twice a year.

SEYO Sports League/Little Hoopsters Basketball Program. Our basketball program is designed to help our children develop their character as well as their athletic skills. Little Hoopsters is for ages 5-7; SEYO teams are for ages 8 through high school. For more information, see the Sports/Sports Ministry page.

MnMs. This is a ministry to all moms with children. Currently, this group meets 1st and 3rd Fridays every month at 10:00 am in the new Social Hall at Wintersburg. This ministry serves moms through education, support, sharing of needs, and wonderful fellowship.
