Revival!

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

The other day I was talking to someone who has just come back to church over the past few months. He was sharing with me that over the past several years, since COVID-19, that he was not attending church and that his spiritual life had become dry. What he was sharing with me was that he was in need of a spiritual revival. A personal renewal of his spiritual life. King David prayed in Psalm 51:10 that the Lord would renew a right spirit within him. In Romans 12:2 the apostle Paul said that the way to personal spiritual revival was through the renewing of our minds. The question is, how can I renew my mind?

First of all, we must make time to open our hearts and minds to God’s Word. Second, as you spend time in God’s Word, listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit. God has given us the Holy Spirit to illumine God’s Word in our hearts and mind. Ask the Holy Spirit to be your teacher. Third, choose to believe and obey God’s Word. God will not give us a deeper understanding of His Word until we obey what He has already given to us.

Thought For Today: Where is your mind today? Is it filled with anger, insecurity, fear, etc.? Take time to meditate on God’s Word and let Him change the way you think, feel, and act. Experience renewal today in your way of thinking, and watch as renewing your mind changes your entire day for the better.

Today’s Prayer Focus: Pray that God would bring about a spiritual revival in your heart and mind as well as to our church family. Deo Volente.
