God Holds Your Future

“I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My Lord, what will the outcome of all of this be?”

Watching the unfolding events in Israel the last few days and with the uncertainty in our country over a divided government, UAW and Kaiser Permanente strikes, and a myriad of other concerns, many

people are worried and anxious about what the future holds. At times like this, having a spiritual foundation to which to base our hopes and expectations is so important.

Studies have shown that those who have a strong spiritual foundation have a greater ability to handle the mental health issues that accompany uncertain times than those who don’t.

While it is difficult to understand God’s purpose in our lives these day, the core of a strong faith depends on our ability to trust completely in God, no matter what happens and even when we don’t understand. The Old Testament prophet Daniel, discovered that the true test of our faith comes when things are difficult to understand. Daniel was a righteous man but found himself in the lion’s den. Through faith and trust in God, He was delivered.

Thought For Today: Though we don’t understand what the future holds, let us keep persevering in our faith and trust in God. Today, reflect upon how you are persevering in these difficult days? Are you keeping the faith?
