Well Done!
“Well done thy good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your master.” Matthew 25:23
This morning, a Military Color Guard will commence the Celebration of Life for Chik Furuta. As I have participated in a number of services for our nation’s veterans, one of the things that a soldier says while presenting the U.S. Flag to the family is:
“On behalf of the President of the United States, the United States Army, and a grateful nation, please accept this flag as a symbol of our appreciation for your loved one's honorable and faithful service.”
Not only did Chik serve our nation well, but he also served the Lord and Wintersburg Presbyterian church well. The Furuta’s were so generous to the church and staff as they were always giving staff Easter Lilies, Poinsettias, and other floral arrangements on special occasions.
As a church we also say, on behalf of a grateful congregation, we thank you Chikfor your faithful and honorable service. Even now, Chik has heard the words of our Lord Jesus in Matthew 25:23, “Well done thy good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your master.”
Thought For Today: Consider the joy of hearing those precious words from Jesus, “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” Are those words the Lord would say to you? If not, what might you change in your life?
Today’s Prayer Focus: Take time to pray for comfort for the Furuta Family. Deo Volente.
