THANK YOU!!!

“I commend to you, God, and the word of his grace.” Acts 20:32

Well, today is my last day serving as your interim pastor here at Wintersburg. After the staff meeting today, I’ll be heading back to Monterey to be with Sherry and my other family members there. It has been a true joy and blessing to be with you these past 9 months. Over the past few weeks, I have realized that saying goodbye is a hard thing. During the course of my 70 years, I’ve had to say goodbye to spouses, family members, friends, and several congregations. To say goodbye is to acknowledge that things will not be the same. It is to acknowledge that all good things must come to an end. My time at Wintersburg has been a good thing for me, and I hope it has been good for you, too.

Paul wrote in Philippians 1:5; I thank my God in all of my remembrances of you. Over the 11 ½ years that I spent with you from 2003-15 and over these past 9 months, I am grateful for the friendships that have developed. I am grateful for the partnership in the gospel that we have shared. I will surely miss my time with you.

In Acts 20, the Apostle Paul was saying goodbye to the church at Ephesus. In verse 32, he wrote, I commend to you God and the word of his grace.” God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ are what matters. God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ are sufficient for all that we need in this life and the life to come.

Thank you to all of you who have read these daily devotions. Thank you, Wintersburg, for your love, support, prayers, and encouragement.

And now, I commend you to our God and to the Word of his grace. May God richly bless you and sustain you until we meet again.

In Christ,

Pastor Ted
