God Is Love

On Wednesday I drove up to Monterey to see my daughter Sherry before heading up to Vacaville for the EPC Presbytery meeting. As I drove into Monterey, I thought that since it was a beautiful day that I would drive around the coastline.

It was a beautiful sunny day and the view of the coast was spectacular. I could see across the bay and see Santa Cruz. Gazing out at the ocean and watching the waves crash upon the coast was an awesome sight.

As I was driving, I was thinking that God’s Love is like the ocean. It is a consuming force that cannot be controlled by any human. It is powerful and complete. Like waves splashing to the shore, God’s love is active and alive. And for us mere mortals who attempt to control the Power of God are only fooling themselves.

Thought For Today: God’s love is like the ocean. Are you drowning in the presence of God and His love? Where do you see God’s love at work? Have you received the gift of God’s love through His son Jesus Christ?

Today’s Prayer Focus: Praise God that He is a God of Love. Thank God for the love that he has for you and that because God so loved the world he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Deo Volente.
