Practicing His Presence

“I urge you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God which is your spiritual service of worship.”
Romans 12:1

There are 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week. The time that we have between our Sunday worship services is about 168 hours. Therefore, how do we worship God between Sunday’s?

Worshipping God is not just what we do for an hour or so on a Sunday morning, rather, it is something that we should be doing every day. We can worship God any day, any time, any place. For the believer, Worship is coming into the presence of God and Praising him for who he is, Thanking him for what he has done, Confessing our sins before him and Praying and interceding for others. These things can be done anywhere, at any time and under any circumstances.

Years ago I read a book by Brother Lawrence entitled “Practicing The PRESENCE of God” In his book he gave helpful hints how we can experience God’s Presence and worship him. The gist of it was:

Praise God Continually

Rejoice, even in negative circumstances

Experience the Lord, even in your low points

Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness

Expect the miraculous

Need God

Confess and experience God’s forgiveness

Enjoy The Lord

Thought For Today: Take time today to practice the PRESENCE OF GOD.

Today’s Prayer Focus: Praise God for who He is, Thank God for what He has done, confess your sins before him and experience His forgiveness and continue to pray for your needs and the needs of others. Deo Volente.
