Hope In The Lord

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:29-31

One of my favorite passages in the bible comes from the above verse. For over 25 years I ran numerous marathons and competed in Ironman triathlon’s. Participating in these events can often times cause you to become weary, weak, and faint. But Isaiah says that those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. As I competed in these long distance events, keeping this verse in mind always helped me get through to the finish line.

Today many issues can cause us to grow weary, weak and faint. But, if we put our hope and trust in God, He will renew our strength and help us get through to the finish line! The key for us is to depend and rely upon God’s unlimited strength. Psalm 84:5 says, “Blessed is the man whose strength is in God.”

Thought For Today, reflect upon the ways that life can make you weary and weak. What does it mean for you to hope in the Lord? Today, remember God’s promise to the weak and weary as you depend and rely on Him for his unlimited strength.

Today’s Prayer Focus: Pray that God would renew your strength and for all those who call Wintersburg home. Deo Volente.
