I am weak, but He is strong!

"You bless all who depend on you for their strength." Psalm 84:5

One of the most famous Christians of the 19th century was a man named Hudson Taylor. He was a missionary to China, a spiritual giant, and a brilliant man. It was by reading his autobiography that I decided to join his mission agency the China Inland Mission that later became the Overseas Missionary Fellowship.

In his old age, he lost his health and became quite weak. He wrote a letter to a friend that said: "I am so weak I can no longer work. I am so weak I can no longer study. I am so weak I can no longer read my Bible. I cannot even pray. I can only lie still in the arms of God like a little child in trust."

I think a lot of us can relate to this right now. Perhaps you or someone you know is feeling exhausted and weak, whether it's emotionally, spiritually, or physically. You may be so weak that you can't even pray or read and study the Bible. What do you do in those moments? You rest in the strength of the Lord, “And in his arms, like a little child, you trust.”

Our strength is limited. But God's strength is unlimited. Our strength is finite. But God's strength is infinite. Our strength is exhaustible. But God's strength is inexhaustible. God never runs out of energy. God never gets tired.

We sing in the Hymn “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” I am weak but He is strong! The more we depend on God, the stronger we are!

Thought For Today: Are you feeling tired, weak, or exhausted? Lean on the everlasting arms of God. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:9 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Today’s Prayer Focus: Praise God that He is Omnipotent, all powerful. If you are tired, weary, or heavy laden, cast your cares upon Him and ask for his strength. Deo Volente.
