Playbook

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16

Are you ready for some football!! Last weekend the National Football League Season began. Talking to Kenny Wakamoto yesterday he was thrilled that the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Seattle Seahawks and I was happy that my team the San Francisco 49er’s defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers. It should be an interesting weekend as Kenny’s Rams and my 49er’s are playing this Sunday.

Coming out of the preseason, all of the NFL teams have put in a lot of hard work. Each Team member must memorize the playbook that the coaches have put together, filled with hundreds of plays for every situation that might arise. If a player forgets the play or fails to execute the play as it has been designed, the team will fail to score. The playbook is the pathway to victory, a brilliant plan, one that when followed correctly can lead the team to a score and hopefully a win.

As Christians, we also have a playbook, it is called the Holy Bible! It is an inspired playbook designed by God to help us to be victorious in life. Like the team playbook, there is knowledge and wisdom for every situation. Just like any good football player memorizes his playbook, we too as Christians should memorize God’s playbook.

Thought For Today: How will you rely upon God’s Playbook today and this week? How are you doing in memorizing God’s playbook. What play will you memorize today?

Today’s Prayer Focus: Pray that Wintersburg will be a church of God’s Word and that we will continually be transformed by it. Deo Volente.
