Pray For Your WPC Staff
42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47
When I came back to Wintersburg, my home church, the El Estero Presbyterian Church of Monterey graciously gave me funds to be used for ministry purposes. So, on Sunday after church, the staff came to Palm Desert for a week long staff retreat. Before coming out to Palm Desert, Pastor Cory Ishida, former pastor of Evergreen Baptist Church of the San Gabriel Valley shared with me 7 P’s that he incorporated in his staff retreats The 7 P’s are:
1.) Partake – Eating Meals Together
2.) Prayer – Spend time in prayer for one another
3.) Praise – Unite our hearts in praise to the God who loves us with an everlasting love
4.) Participate – Work together to cook and clean.
5.) Plan – Plan how we can cooperate with the new Implementation Team to fulfill God’s Calling for Wintersburg.
6.) Ponder – Study the Word of God together
7.) Play – Have fun
Pastor Cory shared that a healthy staff leads to a healthy church.
Thought For Today: How often do you pray for the church staff? How can you be a support to the staff? In what ways can you encourage the staff.
Today’s Prayer Focus: Pray that the staff retreat would be a time of renewal, refreshment, and revival for the hearts and minds of the staff. That we would bond and grow together. Take time to pray for the staff: Pastor Ryan, Brian Gee, Kris Pei, Jesse Hahn, Kristin Gong, Kristen Lee, Mao Shimizu, and Miles Yano. Deo Volente.
