Our Lives Are In His Hands

“But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God.” 15 My times are in your hands;” Psalm 31:14-15

Well, today I turned 70 years old. Birthdays can be times of reflection and prayer. And so today I thank God for 70 years of physical life and that for the most part, I have been relatively healthy! I thank God for 48 ½ years of knowing Jesus as my Savior and Lord and for His amazing grace and faithfulness to me. I am thankful that God has allowed me to know the love of Cheryl and Kazuko and for God’s gift to me in Sherry. I am thankful for a wonderful and supportive family. I am thankful for the privilege of pastoring 3 churches over 35 years and for the fellowship I have enjoyed. If time permits, I could go on and on counting the blessings God has given me through the years.

In Psalm 31:15, the psalmist wrote that our times are in God’s hands. As I head into retirement, I do not know what the future holds, I am grateful that I know the one who holds the future.

Thought For Today: We do not need birthdays to remind us of the ways God has led and blessed our lives. For what are you thankful today? Do you know anyone who has a birthday coming up? Take time to pray through the following prayer.

Today’s Prayer Focus: Thank God that your life is in His hands. What better place to be than in the hands of a loving, gracious, and sovereign God. Deo Volente.
