War and Peace
“War will continue until the end.”
Daniel 9:26
Today is day 10 of the Israeli and Palestinian Conflict. So far, thousands of people have been killed and hundreds more have been injured. Once again, families are mourning and grieving the acts of senseless violence.
The Bible calls us to work and to pray for peace. But the Bible also tells us that conflicts, wars, and acts of violence will be part of our human society until Jesus comes again and sets up His Kingdom of peace and justice. Until that day, we will be subject to “wars and rumors of war.” Matthew 24:6
Why is this? Why can’t we live together in peace? The Bible also tells us that we live in a fallen world, where sin and rebellion against God and the things of God happen. Until our hearts are changed we will never know a lasting peace.
Thought For Today: Even when conflicts, war, and acts of senseless violence rage, we can peace in our hearts. Jesus came to be the Prince of Peace. He has promised us a peace that surpasses understanding. True peace comes from Knowing God. Today, ask God to give you that peace and that you would be a peacemaker.
Today’s Prayer Focus: continue to pray for the families of the victims of the Israeli and Palestinian conflict . Pray God will surround them with His presence and peace. Deo Volente.
