My Times Are In Your Hand

“My times are in your hand”
Psalm 31:15

This weekend ends Daylight Savings time. There is a quote that goes,“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift...That’s why it’s called the “present!” Have you ever asked the question, where did the time go? Time is an irreplaceable commodity that God grants us, a precious period of opportunity for fulfilling the purposes for which we exist. As followers of Jesus, we seek to be good stewards of the time that God has given to us. We realize the importance of time and seek to use it wisely.

Wise use of time starts by knowing Christ and seeking to live for him. If our time, energy, and focus are only on material wealth or other worldly successes, our time has been wasted. Jesus said in Mark 8:36, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and yet loses his life.”

While we must spend time providing for our needs, our life’s purpose must be to do the Lord’s work. We were born to serve our Creator. Jesus himself said, “For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve.” Mark 10:45. Our Lord Jesus is our model. We are called to bring people to Christ and serve others based on gifts given to us by God.

Thought For Today: How can you be a better steward of your time? Are there any activities that are wasting your time? How will you use your time wisely today?

Today’s Prayer Focus: Praise God for being a timeless God. Pray that God will help you to be a wise steward today. Deo Volente.
